Chambray Is Fall’s Unexpected Fabric

What looks like denim, feels like heaven, and will perfectly transition your wardrobe from summer into Fall? Chambray!

Of course you know it’s the perfect summertime alternative to your favorite heavy denim, but this crisp blue cloth shouldn’t disappear from your closet once the temperature begins to drop. It’s perhaps best known in shirt form (add that to your list of wardrobe essentials, please!), but the resort collections have proved that this textile doesn’t stop there.

If you’ve been following my blog you know how much I adore this chambray dip dye shirt dress. It’s a perfect choice because of the indigo color and the retractable sleeves. This summer I rolled them up and secure them just above or below my elbows, but now that it’s fall I wear them down. With such lightweight fabric extra layers like scarves and cardigans will be perfect to take this look into fall.

It’s still too warm in Austin for boots, sigh, but I plan to pair this little number with THIS pair and THIS pair as soon as the temps take a much need Fall turn.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
