All-Over Print

What sets this Spring’s runways apart from all the rest? Print, print, and…more print. Shoulder-to-floor floral maxi dresses, paisley printed suits, zig-zagged shorts with matching jackets, and graphic spotted jumpsuits. Every print in every color imaginable was seen walking the catwalk. After the blacks, grays, and beiges of late, it is safe to say that the fashion world has done a 180. Celebrate this color overhaul and go all out with all-over print!

1. Elizabeth and James Sue Blazer ($495)
Pair the Sue Blazer with the Willie Shorts below, and you’ve got the trend. Layer this playful twist on a suit with a simple tank, bustier, or blouse and your favorite nude pumps for a runway-worthy look. Playful details include 6 button details, notched collar, lightly padded shoulders, and 4-button cuffs.

2. Elizabeth and James Willie Shorts ($245)
Featuring the same navy and poppy zig zags as the Sue Blazer, these shorts complete the all-over print look (or stand alone with a cardi, tank, or solid blazer). High-waisted shorts with on-seam hip pockets, vertical pintuck, and hook-and-eye closure.

3. Alice + Olivia Beverley One Shoulder Jumpsuit ($484)
A flair for the dramatic. Paired with a nude platform and a scarlet belt, this one-shoulder jumpsuit is instantaneous glamor. The Beverley jumpsuit is made of whisper soft silk that moves with you and summer breezes beautifully. Slant pockets add a laid-back vibe.

4. 3.1 Phillip Lim Drawstring Waist Jumpsuit ($750)
Inspired by the wild, finished in femininity. The Philip Lim jumpsuit takes a cue from the leopard, and features all over marigold yellow spots. Slouchy in all the right places, it also has moments of crisp tailoring at its drawstring waist and stand-up collar.

5. Diane von Furstenberg Abigail Floral-print Silk-jersey Wrap Dress ($595)
Taking the iconic DVF wrap dress, and making it Spring 2012….Furstenberg makes the trend hers by extending the hem to the floor and adding a bold, all-over floral print. Pair with a flat sandal for a by-the-sea brunch or a platform for cocktail hour.
